Why is a "current" prescription necessary to obtain a new pair of glas!

Question: Why is a "current" prescription necessary to obtain a new pair of glasses!.!?
I realize I may need to get checked out for eye diseases and a possible change in prescription strength periodically; however, why shouldn't this be my choice!. If the glasses I am wearing get lost, I will have to pay to get a new exam because my prescription is over 2 yrs!. old and they will not honor it!. WHY!?!?!? Its not like I will overdose or give my prescription to someone else or!.!.!.you get my point!. Liability!?!?!? C'mon, what is the worst thing that could happen if I agree to take the prescription "as is" with an agreement to pay for what they make with no guarantees!. I would take my chances and save a bundle!. If my current glasses work the new ones will too!.!.!.right!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well!. You may require a new Rx because maybe your eyesight got better or worsened and this will add to up to be a change on your Rx slippy thingy!. I know!. It kinda DOES suck because I wear contacts and the same thing applies!. You have to get an eye exam every 2 years if you want to get more contacts!. But really, I have to get my eyes checked every year at the opthamologist anyway because I have JRA which might spread up to my eyes and I could get blind!. I don't have it in my eyes!. Thank goodness!!! But my point is that your prescription might have changed slightly or maybe you've developed an eye condition you weren't aware of and need special care for your eyes!. I think that's why you'd need a new Rx!.

Often, we get used to the glasses that work for us!. When I went in to get new glasses last time, I had to get my eyes checked out!. My brother hates wearing glasses and they don't help his eye sight at all!. And my sister has almost perfect vision!. This eye doctor agreed!. For me, he helped me realize that my old glasses actually only help me see a 20-30 vision!. With my new ones, I can see a lot better, 20-20 to be exact!. But I never realized it!. I would get a new prescription and you will see the difference too!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Usually optometrists want to make sure you haven't developed any new problems over the years!. Eyes change, you know, and usually eyesight worses and other vision problems develop as we age!. It just seems to me that they probably want you to have the best care/perscription for whatever state your eyes are currently in and the only way to do that is with another examination!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Eyes tend to change whether you realize it or not!. Sometimes the changes are very subtle!. Most places won't just make you a pair of glasses after a year has gone by!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your prescription can change without you knowing!. You should never go longer than a year without getting your eyes and prescription checked!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
