If I take my contact lenses out, do I necessarily have to sleep in between putti!

Question: If I take my contact lenses out, do I necessarily have to sleep in between putting them back in!?
Just in order to give my eyes a break, I don't know if this is requirement, but I know I can't keep them in 24 hours, and they'll be in the case for a good 9 hours, like a typical night, but would it be better for my eyes to go to sleep before I put them back in again!? Or should I just wear my glasses tomorrow!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
The benefit of sleeping is for you, not the cornea!.

The front of the eye actually gets more oxygen when the eye is open*

With lenses not intended for sleeping in, the eye recovers oxygen debt at about 3 to 1: an hour off is worth about three hours wearing time!.

For example, if you're going out for a late-night to early-morning party, it's a very good idea to have a couple of hours off in the early evening, to put five or six hours comfortable wearing "back on the clock"!.
(no need to fully disinfect the lenses if you have a complex procedure!.!.!. just keep them in whatever their normal soaking solution is: anyone using a peroxide system needs to think about that, to make sure they don't return the lens to the eye with peroxide still present!.)

*It breaths from the air in front of it, not from the lungs, and only gets about 11% of that, from the inside of the eyelids, when you're asleep!. That's why oxygen supply levels are so critical with sleep-in contacts!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well of course you don't need to wear them for really really LONG periods of time!. and you know not to sleep in them!.

but, i don't think you have to sleep in between taking them out and putting them back in (as long as they stay in the cleaning solution- or else they'll dry up)

ive put mine in and taken them out and put them back in again without sleep with no problem

You can take them out any time of day or night!. You do not need to sleep in between but make sure you take them out before you go to bed!.

And obviously, if you're vision is bad enough make sure you have some glasses handyWww@Answer-Health@Com

No, you're fine!. As long as your contacts are in their case for at least six hours, they will be okay!. I sometimes take my contacts out to give my eyes a break too, so don't worry!. Perfectly safe!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
