How to understand Contact Lenses RX?!

Question: How to understand Contact Lenses RX!?
I got RX for my contacts!. OD -4!.75, Axis 8!.6, Prism 14!.0, and OS -5!.00, Axis 8!.6, Prism 14!.0!. I tried to order Acuvue Oasys online!. And found I need the number for "base curve", and there are two options: 8!.4 and 8!.6!. Is "base curve" and "Axis" the same thing!? If so, then which one I should order, the 8!.4 one or the 8!.6 one!? Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Ok, they most likely wrote your contact lense rx on a regular glasses rx pad!. The numbers you have are for this:
Right eye(od) Power is -4!.75 your base curve is 8!.6 and your diameter is 14!.0 Your left eye (os) power is -5!.00 your base curve is 8!.6 and your diameter is 14!.0

The rx paper most likely reads this at the top:
Sphere Cyl Axis Prism Add

All of these are eyeglass components and the numbers you are stating are for power, base curve, and diameter!. It sounds like they wrote your CL rx on a glasses rx pad!. It happens all the time becuase most doctors do not have separate forms for contact lense Rx's!. Some do, not all of them do!. So you need the 8!.6 one!. That is all!. Your are fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

That is just because your Dr!. used a prescription form for glasses so nothing is under the right heading!.!.!.!.this is what it actually says!.!.!.

OD - 4!.75 sphere!.!.!.Base curve 8!.6!.!.!.!.diameter 14!.0

OS -!.5!.00 sphere!.!.!.Base curve 8!.6!.!.!.!.diameter 14!.0

OD is right!.!.!.OS is left!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
