Contact lens fitting?!
Question: Contact lens fitting!?
so my mom scheduled an appt and she said "she'd like to get contacts", so i'm guessing that's a contact lense fitting!?
anyway, i'd like to know what they do during the fitting!. what tests do they perform, etc!.

Besides doing the regular exam (checking the over health and vision of your eyes) a contact lens fitting includes measuring the size and shape of your cornea (the clear tissue over your iris where the contact sits), we need to flip your eyelids to be sure that you don't have any allergies or other conditions that may not work well with contacts!. Then we need to determine which kind of contacts will work best for your eyes as well as your lifestyle (are you going to sleep in them even though we tell you not to, do you have dry eye issues, do you want to throw them away daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly!?), then we need to put a lens on your eye to make sure that is moves enough, but not too much, that you can see, that they are comfortable!. And lastly, the fun part! We need to teach you how to put them in, take them out, and clean them all by yourself! It's a little more complicated than you think! they do a normal eye test!. look at your eye through a machine!. then give you 2 diffrent sized contacts to wear leave you for a while and from that they can tell your proper size by looking at you're eyes again!.
then they show you how to put them in and you get to go on your way, contacts and all!. it took about 45 mins altogether for me!. 25 of those were walking aroung town, with the first contacts in!. then 5 to learn how to put them in!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well an eye exam and a cl fit are different!.!. the when you go it to the preTest room the tech will do series of test that will te;; the doctor your eye measurements like the base curve of you eye and diameter and from there the doctor will test tear levels to see how much moisture is produced and a lot More Lil things but there is usually a charge aside from the eye examWww@Answer-Health@Com

They are gonnna take you to a little side room!.
They are gonna sit u in front of a little mirror and show u how to put em in!.
Then you have to put em in!.
Not to scare you, but ur eyes ARE gonna burn because they arent use to something being in them!.
It took me about ten times lol!. My eyes were red and burning badly!.
dont be scared lol!.
Its nothing you can really to do stop it, but relax and keep trying til you get em in!.
Newho, those will be your trial pair!.
You keep em for two weeks then check back in with your doc, to make sure they worked correctly and to order your real ones!.

i got mine done a couple months ago!.!. they check your eyesite, you have to read those letters, then they check for stigmitism, they dilate your eyes, but once you're going for a lens fitting, I think they just teach you how to put the lens in!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
when i got contacts they didn't do a fitting but they checked my eyes and let me try to put them in and take them outWww@Answer-Health@Com
