You'll have to learn Japanese eventually if you plan to live in Japan, lol!. No matter what job you take, even if you worked in a grocery store!. As an eye doctor, you're going to have to communicate with your patients!. Learning the language is a good first step!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You will have to ask the Japanese medical or optometry schools if they provide instruction in English!. If they don't and you don't know Japanese, then I don't know how you could possibly study!. You will also have to ask the Japanese schools if they accept foreign students!.

Next ask the licensing body for optometrists or medical doctors where you live if a Japanese degree will be accepted to qualify you to write licensing exams!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you plan on being an "ophthalmologist" which is a medical doctor who specializes in eyes, then plan on doing your training in the USA!. While you can go to medical school outside the U!.S!., it is more difficult to get a residency spot in ophthalmology!.

If you plan on being an "optometrist" which is not a medical doctor, can not do eye surgeries and can not prescribe medicines for the eyes, then it might be easier b/c there is no residency training requirement!. Of course, there are a lot of schools that focus on optometry in the U!.S!. as well!.

In either case, you will still have to meet educational requirements for licensure in the U!.S!. and often programs completed outside the U!.S!. even if you have been licensed by another country are NOT accepted!.

Hope that helps!. PeaceWww@Answer-Health@Com
