Air conditioner dries my eyes because I wear lenses?!

Question: Air conditioner dries my eyes because I wear lenses!?
There is an electric fan on my work place instead of air conditioner!. The problem is that I wear contact lenses and my eyes get dry, red and are watering to the end of working day!. It

Make sure the fan isn't blowing directly at you!. Have it come from over your shoulder!. Keep re-wetting drops handy and use them periodically!. Other than that, there's not a lot you can do other than turn it off and sweat!. I've had to stop wearing lenses all together because my eyes are too dry to support them, and I even have to ask people to turn off ceiling fans as they irritate my eyes so badly and that is without contacts!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would suggest finding a rewetting drop to use occasionally, try nonpreserved one if you apply more than four times a day!. You may also try what is called a scleral wash: wash your hands, move your contact toward your ear, blink a few times, then look toward your contact(ear) so the lens recenters!. This will place new tears under the lens and your eye should feel more comfortable!. This technique only works if you have a soft lens or a silicone hydrogel (extended wear) lens, not a rigid gas permeable len!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

That's the same problem that I have encountered also when I used to wear contact lenses!. Morning hours are okay but most of the afternoons my eyes are really getting dried up and becomes irritating and reddish!. What I did was I am using ultra mild eye drops or the lense solution itseld to keep it hydrated and germ free!.

Tip: wash your lens after lunch so it will be fresh as well as your eyes!.

Personally, I had enough and just retained my glasses!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I work in a dry workplace and wear contacts too!. I keep rewetting drops with me!. I have found the rapid blinking about 50 to 100 times when my eyes feel dry also helps alot!. I work on a computer between 8-10 hours a day and rapid blinking helps with eyestrain and lubricates your eyes naturally!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
