Hard to say without seeing your eye but the most common eye infection in a healthy person ( no HIV, diabetes mellitus or chemotherapy) is viral conjunctivitus or what is commonly called "pink eye"!. It feels like sand under the eyelid and the eye is excessively watery and sensitive to bright light!. It may also form a crusty material in the morning after a night's sleep!. There are prescription meds that help clear this problem!. Warm compresses to the are may help also!. Please don't hesitate to get a medical evaluation !. Your eyes are extremely important and delicate!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ahh wow, this is happening to me right now too!

I really don't know what it is, but make sure you keep and make-up/contacts, out of there!.

If the pain persists for a few days, you should call the optical doctor!.!.just to be safe

if you wear contacts you have a scratched cornea!. i had it last year!.!.!. if you are like me you cant look into any kind of light, eye drops are PAINFULLL, ect!.!.dont wear your contacts/ ANY eye makeup for a week and the reddish color should go away along with the pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Did you break one of your blood vessels!? That has happened to me before!. It didn't last that long for me!. If it continues to hurt then I would call a doctor!. Hope I helped (;Www@Answer-Health@Com
