Question: Eye exam and contact lenses!?
first of all, i need glasses!.!.and im planning to tell my mom soon(she knows that i dont have perfect visions,and that my eyes are not THAT bad)!.!.but as years passed by, but eyes are getting worse and worse!.!.!.and i have tried talking to my mom about contact lense, but she just wont let me have them becuase she thinks they are harmful for your eyes!.!.-_-(and my dad agrees too)!.!.!.and i heard that when you set up for ur appointments, its better if you tell the doctor that you want contact lenses, and since my mom dont agree wit my idea, can i tell the doctor that i want contacts when im there for the appointment!?

my father thought that too when i was about to purchase my first pair of contacts and his a physician for crying out loud!.!.anyway it is indeed better to schedule the appointment and mention you are interested in contacts!.as far as the detriment of contact lenses is concerned,you should know that they can only be rather harmful if you misuse them,neglect to take good care of them and so on and so for!.!.but i suppose your eye doctor will be far more analytical and pedantic should you in fact inquire him/her about lenses!.!.!.bottom line:contact lenses are way more helpful than your standard glasses,since they offer a wider optical field and they can hurt you if you don't take good care of them!.My advice is:buy contactsWww@Answer-Health@Com
The air puff thing isn't scary at all!. A tiny puff of air is blown on your eye by some kind of gadget!. It tests the pressure in your eye!. The puff isn't even two seconds long!. It will probably make you blink, but it won't be uncomfortable in any way!. I am a veteran of about a zillion of these, or so it seem sometimes!.
It would be a good idea for you and your parents to meet with the eye doctor to discuss the positives and negatives of contact lenses!. Ask questions about anything you don't understand completely!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can tell the doc that you want contacts!. But who is paying for your exam and lenses!? Your parents!? Then probably you really don't have a say in whether you'll get the contacts, unless you ask the doc to explain that contacts aren't harmful to your eyes!.

i don't know your mom or dad so i would think they might get mad or just say no when you thel your docter you want contacts but you can steal telll your docter

No, the air puff thing isn't scary at all!. They do that just to test the pressure in the eye (for glaucoma)!. It's really quick and painless!.!.!. Contacts are not bad for your eyes, just as long as you make sure to clean them every day and don't sleep in them even if they say their made to be slept in!. You need to keep them very clean and serile!. Your parents are worried about you, which is great, but you should have the eye doctor talk to him!. He should be able to persuade them that contacts aren't harmful at all!. I've been wearing contacts since I was 13 years old (it's been 14 years since I first started wearing them)!. I haven't had a single eye infection or any type of eye problem since I've started to wear them! Good luck!.!.!. I don't know what I'd do w/o contacts!. I've been wearing contacts since I was 15 and now that I'm in my 20s I still wear them!. If I'm just at home relaxing I wear my glasses but when I go to work or out on the town I put on my contacts!. So maybe thats something you could tell your parents too!. Also, a few months ago I had to go get my eyes checked bcuz my prescription had expired for my contacts and my doctor said that she was going to give me a prescription for glasses too at no extra cost!. So that was an extra bonus!. You can tell your doctor that you would like contacts and your doctor can also explain to your parents the pros and cons of contacts!. When you first get them they'll start you up w/ a kit of solution and the cases and give you a free pair of clear contacts to wear home!. If they don't have your prescription in stock it'll take a wk to get them in!. They will show you how to put them in and take them out!. Or if you're like me I wear colored contacts they'll let u try on the different colors see which ones you want to order!. I have never had any problems w/ my contacts!. I take good care of them and dont sleep w/ them!.
