Are there any real, scientific studies on eye exercise improving myopia?!

Question: Are there any real, scientific studies on eye exercise improving myopia!?
I developed myopia later in life, like 20 or something!. I am 23 and just now getting it corrected with eye glasses!. Science and eye doctors seem to say that myopia is inheritable (I asked my eye doctor yesterday why I developed it and he just said "bad luck")!. Yet some people claim that it is due to close work!. I read a lot and I work with microscopes regularly (which will increase more after I graduate) and do A LOT of close work!.

So I was wondering if there are real scientific studies out there that link close work with myopia and also show real results with eye exercises!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
There are a great many studies that demonstrate that both close work and genetics have a strong influence on the development of myopia!. There are also many studies that show that eye exercises are unfortunately of no benefit whatsoever!. At this stage other than ceasing close work (very unrealistic) there is no scientifically proven way to reduce the progression of myopia!. It is a highly researched topic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
