Should sunglasses get my prism script?!

Question: Should sunglasses get my prism script!?
I need prism glasses to help correct misalignment!. Should I be getting my sunglasses with the prism script also or can I use my present RX sunglasses realistically!?

I'm waiting until my MRI is done before I buy anything!. Didn't realize I had the problem!. I see double sometimes, not always, and it showed on my eye exam!. Hopefully they won't use dye in the MRI!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Absolutely yes!. Other than surgery, the only way to help the double vision, and usually resultant eye weariness and headaches, is with prisms!. Why would you not have them in sunglasses as well!?

By the way, the "misalignment" is most often an eye muscle problem, and surgical tightening of the muscle on one side solves the problem!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you need to get new glasses, tinted or otherwise then, yes, they should be to the latest Rx including prisms!.

But if the binocular instability and need for prisms is recent, and still being investigated, it would not do any damage or harm if you wish to manage and hold off buying new glasses!.

One other option is using "Stick on" Fresnel prisms on the back of your existing sunglasses as a temporary measure and compromise!. It could save a lot of money, especially if the degree of prism is likely to change again in the near future!.
Your prescriber could advise on this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should use your full complete Rx for all sets of glasses!. have them made to how the Doctor tells you!. You just can not pick and choose!. It is part of the RX!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
