Glasses wearers advice please.!

Question: Glasses wearers advice please!.
Is it normal for your eyes to ache after wearing new first time glasses for the first few times!? As I now have to wear them for driving and other concentration tasks as I have slight astigmatism and am long sighted!. What was your first ever experience of wearing glasses like!? Will things improve for me as at the moment I am on the verge of just putting them to the side and not bothering with them as they are causing discomfort!. Although I can see much better with them on, should I give it more time!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I'm long sighted and have astigmatism too!. I've worn glasses, and now contacts, since I was four!. I have just got my first pair of varifocals, I can totally sympathise with you! New glasses are a nightmare to get used to!. Persevere with them, give your eyes a rest from time to time and don't wear them for driving until you are totally used to them because they will really distort your perception of distance and speed, (so long as you can see without them of course!)Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is normal for glasses to hurt your eyes when you first get them, especially if it is your first time ever wearing glasses!. Your eyes will just need to adjust to them!.

However, if you find that this is continuing for a while or if the pain gets worse you should seek the help of your optician if you suspect anything!. If the pain gets worse and is continuing it could be that your optician hasn't prescribed the right glasses for you (for example, the lenses could be too strong)!. This is unlikely, but it has happened to someone I know!.

And of course, you could always get a second opinion from another opticians by getting an eye test somewhere else!.

Hope that helped!. :-)Www@Answer-Health@Com

As everyone has advised, give them time to adjust!. If, after a few weeks they are still causing discomfort, go back and explain to your optician!.
All glasses and all eyes are different: most spectacle wearers who have several pairs of glasses will tell you they use a different pair for different purposes -one pair is better for reading, another for working in the garden etc!.
I have paid
