I'm 15 and i started contact lenses like a year ago!. after i got them i wore them for a week and then didn't wear them for a year because every time i put them on i couldn't focus on anything and my vison was kinda tweeked!. My mom said it's cause my eyes have to use to contact lenses first but they worked fine the first week i had them on in the very biginning when i got them is this true!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Your eyes DO have to get used to the contact lenses - both how they FEEL and how you see out of them!. Vision itself involves the eyes and the brain working together, so you need to give it time! Usually, people get used to contacts after a week!. However, I've seen it take up to two weeks, too!. Beyond that, if you still can't focus, then your prescription needs to be adjusted!.

Also, if they "worked fine" for the first week, but then started getting blurry, then they might not have been clean enough!. Every person has a different amount of "ingredients" in their tears, which contain proteins and minerals that can build up on your lenses!. People who have alot of this need to clean their lenses more thoroughly to make sure they stay clear!. That might be what happened after a week!.

Good luck! I hope you figure it out - contacts are a great option!Www@Answer-Health@Com

If your vision was odd when you first put them in, that's normal!. But if it stays kind of strange for a long time after you've put them in, that probably means something's wrong!. You should double check if they're inside out, or if you accidentally put the wrong contact into the wrong eye!. If you put the contact for your right eye into the left case, and then keep on putting them in backwards like that, it'll make your vision messed up!. I do that alllll the time!. XD So, switch your contacts to see if they're in the wrong eye, double check if they're inside out (it should be a perfect cup, not saggy at the edges) and if all fails, ask your eye doctor if you needa new perscription!. If things are overly focused or seem closer than they really are, then your perscription is too strong!. If things are fuzzy, then it's not strong enough!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

When you first start to wear contacts for the first time it will take getting use to them!. I would try just wearing them when you are home until you get use to them and I am sure you will and then wear them all the time!. I felt dizzy when I first started wearing them and then once I got use to them I was fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

your mom was probably right!.
try out a new pair and see how they feel!. make sure they aren't inside out!. if they continue to feel weird, go back to your eye doctor and ask to try a new brand because possibly they don't fit your eye properly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
