Will my contact lenses get more comfortable?!

Question: Will my contact lenses get more comfortable!?
I just got contacts yesterday, and I wanted to know if they get more comfortable!. Right now, I can feel them underneath my lower lid!. They're in right, because they felt like this yesterday when I put them in, and the doctor checked them and they were okay!. Are they supposed to feel a little irritating!? Do they get better!? Please help!. :)
Thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have had soft contact lenses for years now!. Are yours soft!? I heard hard lenses take some getting used to!.

When they're good quality, I don't feel them from the second they're in!.
If they are reversed (inside out) they irritate and that's the sign for me to take out, flip and put back in!. It happens sometimes!.

I know people who can't manage to wear contacts as it always iritates!. Don't know why this happens, but apparently it does for some!.

See this answer to check if your contacts are flipped or not:

If they're not flipped and the irritation doesn't subside, you may want to switch to a different brand!. Don't give up just yet!.!.!.:)

The first thing I would check is if the contacts are flipped--depending on the brand, this can be incredibly painful or moderately irritating!. When you put the lens on your finger, do the edges curve up like a little bowl or cup, or do they slightly flare outwards at the edges!? The lens should not have the flaring if they are the right way up!. Also, some brands print little numbers or letters (123, ABC, etc) on the side of the lens which only look right side up when the lens is correct!.

It's normal to feel like there's something in your eye when you first get contacts!. This should go away in a few days!. If they still feel uncomfortable after a week and a half, or if your eyes itch and water a lot, you might want to consider changing lens brands!. I started out with Focus brand lenses, and thought they were ok but a little irritating!. I then switched to Acuvue Oasys with Hydraclear which were SO painful, irritated my eyes like crazy, and triggered my allergy conjunctivitis/hay fever!. Finally, I tried UltraFlex (in the gold and white box) which I can't even feel--so comfortable! I don't know where you get your contacts, but they should order multiple types so don't be afraid to ask to try something else!. Good luck, and stick with them! Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you aren't wearing soft lenses or the gel type, that could be part of your problem!. I am a new contact wearer and was prescribed - Acuvue Advanced Oasys w/ Hydroclear!. EXCELLENT! OMG, From the second they were in I couldn't tell, and - they stay moist and comfortable all day!. My wonderful doctor gave me a great solution too - called - RepleniSH (Opti-free) - retains moisture & is also a disinfectant!. She told me many of the other solutions had recall issues for irritants & side effects!. This was highly rated and used by other eye doctors!.

Either way give yourself some "break in" time!. Wear them for an hour or 2, then increase each day by half hour!. Hope this helps!. If not ask your doctor to switch to a different type of lens!. They get free samples all the time! So should be no extra cost to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had the same when i got my contact lenses for first time!.Your eyes feels them as a foreign body!.Whwn you get used them,i can ensure you that you will forget their existing!.What i mean!? Someday i put on my glasses while i already had the lenses in my eyes!.
First days you may have a little weird feeling!.You will feel comfortable !.Just be patient for a few daysWww@Answer-Health@Com

The foreign body sensation is normal for the first few days, up to a week!. New contact wearers might find lubrication drops helpful the first few weeks!. If you still feel them at the follow-up appointment with your doctor let him/her know!. You may get to try out a different brand!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

don't worry it will get better i am only 12 but i got contacts about six months ago and they felt weird but all my older siblings told me i would adjust and i did! it may take 4 days or even a week or so but now i feel fine with them in!!! good luck!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
