Question: Getting an eye exam this week, I have a couple questions about it!?
I've never had an eye exam before, I've read a little about it online, so I kind of know what to expect, as far as what tests they will do, etc, but I still have a couple questions!.
Will they ask me how long my vision has been bad!? Because I don't want to have to say that I've known for a few years that I've needed glasses!.!.!.
Also, I took one of those internet eye tests, where you stand a certain amount of space in front of the computer monitor, and try to read the letters!. Now I know this probably isn't 100% accurate, but I think it gave me an idea, anyway!. I think my left eye is about 20/50, and together my eyes are also probably about 20/50, but my right eye on it's own is maybe 20/200 or 20/400, I couldn't quite decide!.!.!.!.or maybe I just didn't do the test correctly!. But I do know my right eye is definitely worse than my left, though!. So my question is!.!.!.will the eye dr!. act upset/horrified that I haven't ever had my eyes checked, and that my vision is like this!? I'm not even confident that I'll be able to read the big E with my right eye, although I think I'll probably be able to read about 3 or 4 lines with my left eye!.
I've just been wondering about it!. I'm getting an eye exam either way, but these are just a couple things that I've been thinking about, and these weird and horrifying and embarrassing situations of what might happen keep running through my mind!.

I've had people driving cars who qualified for white sticks!.
And if you imply it's only come on recently that will seem as though your eyes are changing very fast, raising extra questions in the examiner's mind about possible diseases!.
It's not a good idea to be misleading!.
Mainly running on one eye's hardly rare!. One person in 30 has that as their normal state even *with* best glasses, and you haven't done any harm to the eyes but not having them tested!.
It's no big deal!.
Yes, as practitioners we do often wish the public were a bit more
thought-out, logical, organised, but that's humanity all over!.
A common conversation, at least in the UK, goes
"Are you taking any pills or medication!?"
"Yes"
"What!?"
"Little white ones!." AArggh!
It's our job to be polite and efficient and not to strangle the person in the chair!. And not to give even a hint that the thought crossed our minds!.
Best ever answer from a patient:
"Is there any eye disease in your family!?"
<Pause>
"The dog's got cataract!."
Relax!.!.!. nothing terrible happens!.
Take sunglasses in case they want to dilate your pupils!.

It is not big deal, really!. They deal with this stuff every day!. If worried and they ask how long just say I don't know, because the truth is none of us realize how bad our eyes are until we get a new perscription!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Relax!. Whoever your doctor is, he/she won't be upset/horrified!. They will probably ask you how long your vision has been bad, as a way of finding out what to do, but they'll be perfectly nice about it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
you are worried about telling about your ignorance of vision loss!. Definitely you will be questioned about your tolerance to dimness of vision and you have to answer the question also for your surprise we do not get same type of answer---it will also be a surprise how such an extended of 20/50 and20/ 200 was tolerated---read--www!.who!.int/vision2020!.!.!. comon!.!. don't takr it serously it's just an eye exam dont be so nervouse and if you dont like glass it wear it for few months then switch to contacts anyways first youll sit on a chaire then the doctor will open some kind a machine that look like cinema so its like a tv on the wall then youll see a c that open up, down, left, and right then he will make you wear a glass then he ask you do you see the first line !? if you do he will show you other line with smaller c's and you have to tell him wich direction is opening after that he will give you a peace of paper and the ruslts on and you go for a opticals shops like hakim opticals the one that you see it on the tv all the time
