Astigmatism refers to an irregular curvature of the cornea, the front surface of the eye!. This curvature affects the ability of the eye to focus, and can result in distortion or blurring of vision, both near and far, as well as headaches, squinting and eye discomfort!. Astigmatism is very common and can be corrected by wearing glasses or contact lenses!. Laser eye surgery can also reshape the cornea, but is usually performed only in adults, since vision may continue to change throughout adolescence!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Astigmatism usually occurs when the front surface of the eye, the cornea, has an irregular curvature!. Astigmatism is one of a group of eye conditions known as refractive errors!. Refractive errors cause a disturbance in the way that light rays are focused within the eye!. Astigmatism often occurs with nearsightedness and farsightedness, conditions also resulting from refractive errors!. Astigmatism is not a disease nor does it mean that you have "bad eyes!." It simply means that you have a variation or disturbance in the shape of your corneaWww@Answer-Health@Com

The word is "astigmatism"!.

"Astigmatism is a vision condition that causes blurred vision due either to the irregular shape of the cornea, the clear front cover of the eye, or sometimes the curvature of the lens inside the eye!. An irregular shaped cornea or lens prevents light from focusing properly on the retina, the light sensitive surface at the back of the eye!. As a result, vision becomes blurred at any distance!.

Astigmatism is a very common vision condition!. Most people have some degree of astigmatism"
