Are anti-reflex glasses worth buying?!

Question: Are anti-reflex glasses worth buying!?
My mother says I should buy a pair of anti-reflex glasses as I do a lot of reading and computer work!. I've had no problems with my eyes even after a whole day in front of the computer and reading a book meanwhile!. Besides I am concerned that even though they are only anti-reflex when light passes through a different medium (glass in this case) it is altered slightly and after a long period of wearing of those glasses I might introduce a problem and have to where glasses permanently all day long!. I am also concerned about the place where they make them - if the person makes a mistake and makes them optical as well!. So are they worth getting - will I notice huge or just a slight improvement!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

If I understand you correctly, you want to get non-corrective lenses made, just for the anti reflection !?

That will have no benefit at all for you!.

The anti reflection coating is of use if you have to wear glasses to begin with, to cut reflections off the surface of the lenses!.!.!.but if you aren't wearing glasses to begin with, there ARE no reflections!.

All you would be doing with that is introducing a medium that would cause reflections, then eliminating them again with the coating!.

LED monitors don't cause reflections and glare like the older CRT monitors with a glass screen did!.

Save your money, and buy something useful!.!.!.!.anything else would be more useful!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I believe you mean anti "reflection"!. On the one hand, if you seem to be doing just fine without them then why spend the extra money!. On the other hand, though, sometimes you can't appreciate the improvement you will see in your vision quality until you wear an AR treated lens and then it becomes apparent!. I wouldn't expect WOW type of improvement with an AR treated lens but you very well might enjoy the overall improvement in your quality of vision over a day of computer work!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I opted not to get AR coating on my glasses because it can start to turn yellow and peel a bit in a few years!. Since I'm planning on keeping my glasses for more than a few years, the extra cost (something like $75-100) wasn't worth it to me!. My friend had to get the AR removed on her glasses b/c it was yellow and peeling and that was extra money too!. I think they can make a big difference when you're driving at night (especially in the rain) to cut down glare from oncoming headlights!. If you're getting new glasses in the next year or so, money isn't an issue, and you wear your glasses to drive, you should do it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
