Why don't people use contact lenses instead of glasses?!
Question: Why don't people use contact lenses instead of glasses!?
Is it really so hard to put them on / can they damage your eyes!?
Or are they just more expensive!?

i wear lenses, they are not expensive especially clear!. i used have a really hard time putting them in!. but you have to give it some time and then you will get used to it!. my doctor, usual contact wearer, said contacts are better in vision!. they help when playing sports also!. The color are a bit more expensive than clear!. Believe me, you will get used to it!. just give yourself time!. and no they can not damage your eye other whys why would they make them in the first place!? they are extremely soft!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Glasses are cheaper in the long run, and generally easier to wear for long periods of time (no drying the eyes) or get in more unique perscriptions!. Also, they don't involve having a piece of plastic touching your eyeball; something that bothers some people more than others!. It's also much cheaper to get glasses that deal with astigmatism than contacts!.
Contacts are less visible for people who don't like the look of glasses!. They're also more difficult to damage (once you get them in anyway) or scratch (sports!.!.)!. Also, they don't smudge!. If you use disposable contacts you get a fresh feeling with every new pair (especially dailies), but they tend to degrade and feel less comfortable as they wear out!. Contacts can also be hazardous for working with some chemicals, as vapours can become trapped under the lens (bad!)!.

They can only damage your eyes if you don't clean them properly, don't replace them often (disposables obviously), or wear them over night all the time!. Well, in the 28 year that I have been an optician this question does come up a lot!. I think that because glasses were invented so much longer ago than contacts were, the contacts have been considered a luxury!. If contacts had been invented first, I think that glasses would be a luxury! But, also, not everyone can wear contacts and almost everyone can wear glasses!. And, even if you can wear contacts, there are times you can not wear them and if you can not see you still need a pair of glasses to wear when the contacts are not able to be used!. So, the glasses are seen as the necessity, not the contacts!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
In answer to your question, yes they can damage eyes that are not able to use them!. In my case I wanted contacts growing up and always knew that it would damage my eyes!. I would have been blind if it was not for the 4 intense surgeries that i had when I was young!. I had severly crossed eyes!. Do not judge anyone who does wear glasses now I do not wear or need glasses!. I am in my 30s and have no concerns with contacts!. Many of my friends have problems with their contacts, and oh yes the contacts are much more expensive than glasses!. Do not be closed minded to glasses!. You need to find the right pair for your face!. Glasses are much easier to use and take care of!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I use glasses because I have sensitivity towards putting things in my eyes!. Also, I don't have to worry about my eyes getting dry or going through the hassle of putting them in and taking them out!. Having a few extra minutes to sleep is priceless! Furthermore, glasses are just more convenient and less expensive!. And I look hot in my glasses, so they don't bother me one bit! Little78lucky is full of sh*t!. Putting contacts in doesn't hurt at all and if you have them inside out!.!.!.it doesn't hurt either!. The only time it would hurt is when you sleep with them and take them out when your eye is dry!.!.!.that hurts like a *****!. But I choose to wear contacts because glasses are just inconvenient!. If you're playing sports, you have to watch out so you don't break your glasses!. You can't lie with your head against a pillow because you might bend your frames!. You can lose your glasses, but if you lose your contacts, you can replace them for cheaper!. Overall, contacts are better 90% of the time!. I still have glasses as backup though!. I dunt like contact lenses because i have truoble putting them on becuase i don't like to touch my eye!. Also because it takes longer to put them on with glasses you can just slip them on and your all done!. simple that wayWww@Answer-Health@Com
plus some Rx's are not make-able/available in contacts, some Rx's are expensive or uncomfortable in contacts, and some people will never see as good from contacts as they do from their glasses RxWww@Answer-Health@Com
