Question: Why do my contacts keep giving me pink eye!?
I am a very clean person i was my hand before i take them out or put them in i follw all the directions on the solution box and one day i pull my contact out and theres all this eye goo on it and my eyes were bloodshot red and sore and the same thing happened to my mom but she thinks I gave it to her!. so what do you guys think happened they were old but does where old contacts give you pink eye!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Pink eye can be viral or bacterial!. Bacterial is very easy to spread from one person to another, especially if you live in the same house!.
Best way to avoid getting it is to wash your hands often, not just when you're putting in or taking out your contacts!. When you can't wash your hands, try using an anti-bacterial hand sanitizer!. During the day, try to avoid touching your eyes too much!. Even the cleanest person can come into contact with germs that can cause pink eye if you're constantly touching your eyes!.
Once you get pink eye, it's best to throw out your contacts if their disposable ones!. You might not be able to completely kill the bacteria or virus on them, so why risk putting possibly contaminated contacts back in your eyes!. Pink eye is an infection that is spread to the eye by a contaminated touch!. It would not come from the lenses per se!. It is important to make sure your hands are washed clean and dried each time before you touch your eyes to deal with the contact lenses, and that any objects that come near your eyes are also sanitized!.
