Question: Plz help Im so scared!!!!?
I have to get a stye removed with surgery!!I'm really sacred!!!What will they do!?Will they give me medication for me to go to sleep or what!?
I'm really scared!Will it hurt!?How long does it take!?

First of all calm down!.
As with all operations you will be sedated, especially when it comes to the eyes!.
Either they will gas you or give you a shot!. Trust my when you are asleep you will not feel a thing!.
I have been operated on so many times in my life and I am ok!
I understand your fear,however you should consult your DR once more and have him reassure you about all that he intends to do to you!.
Ask him if he has allot of practice with this procedure, ask him about the risks, ask him anything you want to know about the procedure!.
I understand you fear, I know where you are coming from, but rest assured you will be ok, it is ok to be afraid!.
If no complications happen I am sure you will be done in less than a hour, you will wake up feeling alittle nausea and you will not beable to see at first, but if DR didn't put Eye patch on eye it will be a while before you can focus, so do not be alarmed!. If it is a simple procedure where you can see directly after, your eyes will drain and be watery also no reason to be alarmed!.
I wish I can tell you more but I am not a doctor, all I know is from being there when a family member has went through it,but ease down you will be OK!!
Do you have a family member or a friend,spouse with you or are you going to be alone!? It is always better for someone to be there with you for emotional support!.

If I describe the procedure to you you may get more freaked, but here goes!. First you will go in and sit down!. Then they will clean your lids, usually with betadine!. Then they will put in a drop of tetracaine (anesthetic eye drop)!. After you are some what numb, the doctor will inject lidocaine into the area, to make it really numb!. After you are fully numb a clamp is placed around the stye, and flip the lid inside out!. The doctor will take a scalpel and make an incision on the inside of the lid and begin to squeeze out the puss with cotton tip applicators!. Sometimes this can be difficult if the puss has hardened!. After all the gunk is out, the doctor will cauterize the area!. You may feel warmth and smell a yucky smell!. A patch with some ointment will be placed on the eye and then your done!. You need to go to an ophthalmologist who specializes in eyelid surgery!. They won't hurt you during the procedure because you will be numb!. They are professionals and do it all the time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
dont be scared theyre professionals and yes they will numb eye completley and be very very careful you have to think these ppl do this frequently it is their career!.!.they will talk u through itWww@Answer-Health@Com
