Why are all the eyeglasses such dark, bold colors right now?!
Question: Why are all the eyeglasses such dark, bold colors right now!?
I'm looking for my first pair of prescription glasses, but I'm having a hard time finding anything that I really like!. I like some of the styles, but the colors are so dark and bold!. (black, dark blue, dark purple!. dark everything!)
I have very fair skin, blonde hair, and blue eyes (but not really the kind that stand out)!. These black, dark dark blue, dark dark purple, etc frames stick out like a sore thumb on my face!. I'd like to see some baby pink, soft blue, or light purple frames, just generally softer colors!. Does anyone know what is going on with all the stores only carrying really dark colors!?
I want to SEE!! But I can't find any frame styles in the right colors for my face, so I can't order my glasses!. Eeeek!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I could've written your post word-for-word (except for being a blonde part)!. I like the plastic ones but you are right, they are all so bold-looking!. I want them to blend in with my face rather than stick out!. I might go for the metal frames myself!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
As an optometrist who often failed to understand what was going on at the non-practical end of the optical world, I was amused to find Darwin bemused in his first published work, on observations in Tahiti:

The missionaries have tried to persuade the people to change this habit; but it is the fashion, and that is a sufficient answer at Tahiti, as well as at Paris!."
If it's in, it's in, however impractical, or how much it doesn't suit some people!.!.!.
(but which Tahitian woman *first* had the brave idea of shaving the top of their head!? Or did a chief's wife have an accident and then everyone suddenly *had* to!?)
I wouldn't recommend buying frames on-line even with the tempting choice!. There's always thin metal frames, or rimless or semi-rimless, which are mich lighter in appearance!.
Or if you can't see what you want on the display racks, ask if they have catalogues available for you to thumb through!. Getting some samples in isn't a problem for a decent practice!.
