Has anyone done the lasik eye surgery?!

Question: Has anyone done the lasik eye surgery!?
im planning to do it,,any suggestions!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
YES!!! And I LOVE it!!!
Suggestions: research your doctor!. Don't go for the gimmicks and sales!. Make sure the doctor who will be performing the surgery has done enough to be qualified!. Ask about his/her track record!. Any complications!? What is the most common complication!? Any referrals from past patients!? What will the doctor cover after the surgery!? Learn what techniques they use and the advantages/disadvantages of each!. My eyes were cut with a laser and not a traditional scalpel!. Healing is faster and there are fewer complications!.

I was seen by Dr!. Maloney in Westwood (Los Angeles)!. He was great! The best by far in his field!. He conducts a lot of research and is definitely in the forefront when it comes to techniques to improve lasik outcomes!. His fees are high, but they cover one full year of exams and touch-up surgeries!. As far as I'm concerned, money means nothing when the fate of my vision is in their hands!.

I would recommend lasik surgery to ANYONE! I went from -5!.5 to 20/15!. I love being able to see the clock at night!. I love not suffering from dry eyes with my contacts!. I love throwing away the thick bottle caps I used to wear!. I love doing water sports without worrying about losing my contacts!.!.!.I can go on and on!. One small thing that bothers me is the haze I experience with lights at night!. But all the benefits completely outweigh this small annoyance!.

Pain was minimal!. I went home, slept for 2 hours and woke up with perfect vision!. The actual procedure is not painful!. You feel a lot of pressure on your eyeball and that's it!. The post-op healing feels like you have an eyelash or lint on your eyes!. No pain and minimal discomfort!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Suggestion: look at the following two sites: the FDA Lasik guide, and a sample consent form!.

The vast majority of people who are selected as suitable, and have it done, are happy to very happy with the result!. Better than 95% even if they have some degree of residual side-effect!.

But there can be some problems, and, at a low incidence,<1%, real failures!.
I've seen lots of delighted people, and a few literally in tears because I couldn't get them decent vision even with glasses or contacts, following their surgery!.

Which is why it has to be a personal choice on a carefully-weighed risk/benefit analysis!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had laser eye surgery nearly 3 years ago and would recommend it to anybody!. No pain during operation, discomfort for 2-3 days afterwards but no problems since!. I have perfect sight now and wish I had done it years ago worth every penny, wouldn't hesitate to have it redone if need be!. I went to Optimax in Peterborough and recommend them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've never done it but Kathy Griffin (the actress/comedian) did it and she went blind in one eye because the doctor who did it screwed up!. Oh, and did I mention that the doctor who screwed it up was the doctor who created the surgery in the first place!? There are more risks than you would think so make sure to read up on all of the things that could possibly go wrong and then weigh whether or not it's worth it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't know!. I'm afraid to, and I have asigmatism!. My brother did it, and he came out seeing better than most humans are born! He has like 20/15 vision now!.

It was scary, but he works in a manual labor field where glasses interrupted with his work, or cost a hell of a lot to buy glasses for different jobs he'd have do!. He also tried assorted contact lenses, but all interferred with his line of work regarding dust in the eyes, not to mention the hassle of having to deal with contacts every day and the cost!.

My brother is VERY happy with his surgery!. Of course, he suffered the anxiety before the surgery, and some anxiety afterwards for recovery!. But he researched his surgeon, his options, and more given his daily life circumstances and contacts/glasses, versus none!.

For my brother, it was beneficial to not have to wear contacts or glasses daily for his job/career!. For me, it doesn't matter!. My brother also did a lot of research about the surgery and the surgeon!. He's doing great still, 3 years after surgery, with superb vision!.

Any surgery has risks and recovery time!. Ask yourself if the benefits outweigh having to wear glasses or contacts, if they do, research the surgeon who will be performing it!.

I know surgery recovery isn't fun, but it can be VERY well worth it! Same holds true with any surgery!.

From what I've seen in my brother having Lasik, and also an aunt, and a cousin, they all came out great!. But their careers or life circumstances benefited them to not have to wear or invest in glasses or contacts over and over!.

So, from my point of view, and surgeries I've HAVE to had for my health !.!.!. weigh your options!.

If you can live with glasses!.!.!. which can be totally stylish! Or, try contacts for at least a year! Try all means before undergoing surgery!. As a last resort, research your surgeon!

Especially since you are hesitatant enough to ask about lasik!.

Good luck and best to you!

If thats the one how they stick a needle type thing into your eye and then you dont have to wear contacts or glasses again because it improved your vision then yes, my mum had it done, she was in pain for abit and you cant do much except sleep afterwards but i can tell its worth it!. Just make sure you have someone to drive you home from it and to take care of you for the next day or so!.
Goodluck (:Www@Answer-Health@Com

My roommate had it done and it went really well! He said that there was little to no pain involved, just more of an odd sensation because you can feel the work being done!.!.!.!. but there's no pain, just a strange feeling!. He now has better than 20/20 vision!. I think it only took him a few days to be back to 100% to where he could drive again and stuff!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

my parents both had it done!. it takes like a second to do but you have to be in bed for awhile!. if you don't get a good doctor your vision could get worse!. for my mom it made her vision clearer but not so clear and sometimes her eyes bother her or she can't see some things that are far away!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had that procedure!. I would recommend consulting with an reputable eye doctor!. You may qualify for lasik, if you do not qualify there is PRK which is similar and is what I had done!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

im planning to do it too! but im not sure!.!.!. if its gonna hurt!? :DWww@Answer-Health@Com
