21 y.o. - glasses/vision etc?!

Question: 21 y!.o!. - glasses/vision etc!?
Hi
So I'm not certain of my prescription, what I do know though is that it's pretty strong!.!.!. Anything beyond about 2-3 feet is blurry, however I often find myself looking overtop of my glasses because they feel too strong for things in the 3-5 ft range, for greater distances though they are fantastic!.

In addition to this, with the field I am in (design) I do a lot of work that is often 3-12 inches away from me, for which my vision is very good!.!.!.

I'm wondering if I should ask for progressive lenses, if that would help, or if I have very bad vision and should look into laser surgery or something!?

Advice!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Spending two hours to get your vision on track will more than make up in terms of time in your schedule!. So I would go to an eye doctor or at least optician!. Remember, at your age, your eyes are still in flux and your prescription changes!. As far as laser surgery, that is something you should only do after your prescription has settled for a year or two!. I had it when I was 27, since my eyes were changing up until 25!. At what age your eyes settle down depends greatly on the person!. But at 21, I think there is a good chance your eyes are not yet done growing!.

So, my vote is get a new prescription!. Once you get a bit older, I would recommend eye surgery!. I still think it cool to actually be able to see the alarm clock in the morning! Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

if your 21 years old then you are too young for progressive lenses as you don't actually need your glasses for reading!.you should definitely since you haven't stated when you purchased them it's hard to say whether it's the prescription or just a simple adjustment,so i would suggest going back to your optician and tell them what you just stated here!.
if your looking over your glasses then it's like trying to readjust every time you put them back to where they should be worn!.this can be corrected though with a simple adjustment on the frame to keep them put!.

I understand what it's like to be a busy student (I'm an English major and I definitely hear you on needing good vision at certain ranges and not getting enough sleep), but your vision is extremely important!. In your line of work you have to take especial care of your eyes, since anything detrimental to your vision would be just as detrimental to your career (much as a doctor must take good care of their hands)!.

As much as you don't want to hear it, you do need to go to an ophthalmologist and have your vision and eye health checked out!. From your description it sounds like you may be in need of progressive lenses!. You're going to be exposed to quite a bit of eye strain in your field, and you need to somehow make the time to see your eye doctor twice a year!. I hate giving up what little free time I have, too, but our health is extremely important!.

As far as laser eye surgery goes, I would definitely stay away from that!. It's fairly apparent that Lasik moves up the time you'll need reading glasses, making it sort of a moot point!. Have you considered trying contacts!? I wear both and find that there are a lot of conveniences to disposable lenses!. If you can wear them, that would mean you'd probably only need reading glasses, which you might like better than wearing bifocals!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
