Answers:
All surgery has risks, including laser eye surgery!. Some risks are very small, some are quite large!. For example, there is a high risk that your eyes will be permanently drier after surgery!. That's not a really big problem, but you should count on it being an issue!. There is a small risk that you will lose your vision, but there is a risk, however small!.

I would certainly not do laser surgery at your age!. You need to wait until your eyes stop changing!. This will happen sometime between the age of 18 and 30, depending on the person!. I had laser surgery when I was 27, since my eyes weren't stable until I was 25!. If your prescription has changed in the last couple years, I would wait until it stops changing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's perfectly safe, but there are always risks involved!. I highly recommend it!. I think you need to wait a couple more years!. I can't remember specifically, but I think the minimum age is 18 to have this done, though when I had it done, they were recommending 21!.

Also, you cannot be pregnant or nursing because apparently the hormones mess with eye shape!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

As a starter you should wait until you have had a stable Rx for at least two years!.!.!. No point at all in having it done while your eyes are still changing!. The zero Rx, if achieved, isn't going to stay put!.
That puts a lot of people into their early to mid-twenties!.

Perfectly safe doesn't happen in surgery!.
(Or driving cars: 100 dead a day in the USA)
So it's a mattter of balancing risks and likely benefits!.

Better than 96% of people who have had it done are happy to very happy with the result, even if some of those have experienced some degree of side-effect!.

But absolutely assured "no problems"!? No!.
Which is why a consent form is used: see sample below, along with the FDA Lasik information pages!.

According to the current standards, yes- it is safe!. They may find something out in the future, but that remains to be seen (and is why I haven't had it yet)
