the higher the number, the worse the eyesight (so -3!.00) is worse!. The - bit means that you are short sighted!. Most people are 0!.25 and don't need glasses!. I don't know what registers as blind but contact lenses are only made up to -/+12!.00!. (But I had a customer that was -18!.50!! - very very bad eyesight! Never known higher)!. I'm -5!.75 and -6!.50 and I would majorly struggle but could survive without glasses!.

-3!.00 is the higher powered prescription and I guess you could consider it the worse eye!. Blindness can defined differently!. Some may say its when you cant see anything no matter what glasses you have (no light, no movement, nothing)!. THere is also a legal definition of blindness which is best corrected vision of 20/200 or worse or constriction of your visual fields!. So technically, someone that wears glasses and can see okay wouldnt be considered blind regardless of the number on their prescription!.
I would estimate about a -3!.00 to -4!.00 wouldnt be able to see 20/200 without their glasses and could be "considered" blind without glasses, but again its not important since they can see with glasses!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
