Contact Lenses Power=Diopter?!

Question: Contact Lenses Power=Diopter!?
On the side of my contact lenses box, it says:

PWR: -6!.25
BC: 8!.6
DIA: 14!.2

Does this mean the "refractive error" is -6!.25!?

Thanks for your help :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Actually, this is the correction for the refractive error with contacts!. It is not your refractive error!. And, you would have a different Rx for glasses!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes this is your refractive error, but this is specific to contact lenses, it will not be the same for glasses, purely because of the distance glasses are placed from your eye!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes, Www@Answer-Health@Com
