Common to get laser eye surgery at 18?!

Question: Common to get laser eye surgery at 18!?
I'm 18 and have been wearing contact lenses for the past 2 years!. Today I'm told by the doctor that I'm allergic to contact lens and will need to stop wearing them!. I wish to have laser eye surgery next year (the doctor said I'm suitable for it)!.

Are there many people in my age group who have had laser eye surgery before!? Is it risky!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
ask your Dr!. who he would reccommend locally!.age isnt so much the question!.18 is old enough!.!.so long as the Dr!. is competent you should be fine!. Its not inexpensive tho!.!.and as you get older youll still need glasses to help you see up close!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I doubt you're allergic to the lenses, you can be allergic to the solution!. Try daily disposable, no-one has problems with them!.

I personally would not go down the laser correction route as it's effects are only temporary!. It's like saying you're going to buy a pair of glasses at 18 years old and make them last your whole life!. The prescription would change and the glasses would be no use after a few years (I'm not referring to the physical problems with glasses like scratches- just the prescription)!. Ask anyone who wears glasses or contact lenses, especially older people in their 40's or 50's, is their prescription the same as it was when they were 18 years old!? No!.

See a different optician/doctor and ask about trying different lenses or solution!. A peroxide solution is non-allergenic as there is no preservatives in it so you cannot be allergic to anything!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
