I've just got a new pair of glasses that are a slightly better prescription than my last pair!. But I want the option of being able to switch between the two regulary as I like the different frames for different occasions, would this be bad for my eyes!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
please don`t listen to the above answer -the only difference it will make is to see clearly or not, there is no chance of it doing any damage, except if you poke out your eye whilst swapping specs!
seriously, though, i am a qualified optician, and it`s quite common to have different prescriptions for different purposes, no permanent damage is possible!.
there have been experiments where a guy wore special glasses to turn the world totally upside down and reversed, by cunning arrangement of prisms!. it took 2 or 3 weeks of constant wear to adapt, then everything looks quite normal, he even learned to ride a bike with them on, and go to work as usual!.
when he finally stopped wearing them, the world looked reversed again for a few hours, and then all returned to normal, with absolutely no lasting effects!.
if you get the wrong lenses from the optician,(and it does happen sometimes) you may feel blurred, dizzy or disoriented whilst you are actually wearing them but there is no possibility of permanent damage!.
so go ahead and wear your glasses for whatever they seem to work for, you`re quite safe!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I do this!.
My optician gave me new glasses so I could have a spare!. They have slightly different prescriptions, so I wear my old pair in bed while watching tv and when I am in the situation where my daughter can damage them, and use my new ones for best!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think your old ones would be ok to use as an occasional measure but not too often as the difference in the Lens would damage your eyes as they would have to keep refocusing!. This obviously can't be good for your eyes!.

You can get the old pair re-glazed to the new prescription then you don't have to worry!

It would definately strain your eyes!.!.!.You could just buy some cheap frame at Costco or somewhere and they could make the glasses with your prescription!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
