Question: Contact problems attributed to birth control!?
I've been on B!.C(sprintec 28) for over a year and have been wearing contacts for going on 10 years!. I haven't had any trouble with my contacts until Jan!. of this year, I had problems with them not fitting right or getting the right prescription!. After 4 months of trying pairs after pairs and different strengths, I settled for the last pair and ordered them for 6 months!. Now I'm on my last "bad pair"!. I've got 40/60 vision, bad astigmatism and the beginning of lattice degeneration(which is new this year as well!) My vision went down a full point within a year, which is not normal!. Could this be because of the birth control!? I'm happily married and not wanting children by the way!.!.!.!.!.

I've had terrible eye sight my whole life!. My prescription is -9!.0 in both eyes, but it hasn't changed in at least 5 or 6 years!. In August my doctor put me on Ortho Tri-cyclen Lo and in the last month all of the sudden my eye sight has gotten worse!. I thought maybe my contacts were to blame so I changed them, but it didn't help!. I looked up side effects from this birth control online and it listed blurred vision and trouble with contacts!. I have since stopped taking the birth control (for many reasons) and my eye sight has not improved!. I am worried that there may be permanent damage!. I am not a doctor so I cannot tell you if your birth control is causing the problem or not, but I felt that it was a little more than a coincidence that right after I started on birth control my eye sight suddenly got worse!. I think you should talk to your doctor about it for sure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
