Aspheric Vs Toric Contact lens?!
Question: Aspheric Vs Toric Contact lens!?
I recently had an eye exam and the optometrist prescribed a -1!.25 Sphere in my right eye, an Avaira Coopervision, and in my Left eye he first prescribed an -0!.75 sphere -!.075 cylinder 105 axis of a coopervision vertex toric!. The vertex toric felt uncomfortable on my eye, like something was scratching my eye, and I seen a blurry spot out of the peripheal vision with it!. He then tried an O2 Optix, same problem!. So the third time I went in he finally prescribed another Avaira Coopervision -1!.25 sphere for both eyes!. He said I won't be able to see as clear with it, but if it's comfortable it'll work!. He's right, I can see pretty good, but it's not quite 20/20 like my right eye!. I was just wondering could this be a wrong prescription!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

He is using the spherical equivalent for your left eye, but being a 0!.75 cyl it is tricky!.!.!.he is taking 2/3 of the cyl to add to the sphere , which may or may not be better than taking 1/3 and giving you a - 1!.00 instead of -1!.25
Being as you can't get a toric to fit right, the spherical equivalent is the only thing to try, but he is right, your vision won't be quite as sharp!.!.!.although you probably don't notice it much with both eyes open at the same time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
