Determine visual acuity by looking at prescription?!
Question: Determine visual acuity by looking at prescription!?
My contact lenses are -2!.75 for the left eye and -1!.75 for the right!. For a job I am considering applying for, I need to have no worse than 20/100 in one eye and no worse than 20/40 in the other eye, uncorrected!. Do you think I would make it!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
Answers:
There's no firm connection between the acuity and the Rx amount but, unless you had decidedly smaller than average pupils, or an exceptionally high *corrected* acuity, I wouldn't expect you to get 20/40 from the better, -1!.75, eye!.
You'll need the exact figures from your prescriber: they should be on record!. If not, you'll need another exam!.
If you're outside the limit and you really want the career, your next step may be to check whether they accept people who've had their Rx reduced by Lasik, Lasek etc, and if so, after what period!.

Simple answer to this, you cannot describe/infer your visual acuity based on your prescription!. Phone your opticians and ask them what your VA's are!. They would have measured them while conducting your eye test!. What you don't say is this: are you required to have that visual acuity with correction, ie: with glasses on or without correction!?
Ask your opticians for your BCVA (Best Corrected Visual Acuity) this is with you glasses on or your UCVA (Uncorrected Visual Acuity) depending on which measurement your new job requires!.
Hope this helps

------your prescription would have the improved condition as acuity of vision, also you could have compared the improved vision to the expected minimum vision ,will give an idea of your requirement------here i mean the preliminary test and improved test Www@Answer-Health@Com
