There's absolutely no reason to be nervous!. I went to Walmart Vision Center two weeks ago!.!.!.!.

I was totally freaked out about going!. My distance vision is fairly blurry, so I knew they'd say I needed glasses, but I'd never had an eye exam before and didn't know what to expect, so I was pretty freaked out!. However, basically all they did was have me look into a machine and push a button everytime I saw a "ripple of light", and then they had me look into another machine and they took 3 pictures of my eyes!.

The Dr!. was very nice, he didn't make me feel weird or humiliated for not being able to see very many letters on the chart, lol! I expected the whole thing to be a frightening experience, but it was not!. It was kind of interesting, I was sitting there looking through the big thing that flips the different lenses in front of your eyes, and the wall chart and everything looking so CLEAR and normal!. Then he moved it away from my face, and suddenly everything was so much blurrier, I wanted to scream "Give that back!"!. But I didn't!. :)

You'll do fine, it's really not bad!. Oh, I'm a little older than you, and they didn't dilate my eyes or do the glaucoma test, they said it wasn't needed with my age!. So they may not do those for you, but then again they might!. I've read the dilation wears off in just a couple hours though, so it shouldn't be too bad!.

Good luck, and don't worry! If you do need glasses, just think how much nicer it will be to be able to see everything clearly!! Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't be nervous!. The optician will do a pre-screening for you (after you fill out your paperwork)!. This will consist of you looking in a machine that will blow a surprising, yet harmless puff of air in each eye!. This is your glaucoma test; and it measures the pressure in your eye!. The next thing will be an auto refractor that gives the doctor a starting point for your exam, also painless!. Then you are called into his or her office where the doctor will place the manual refractor in front of your eyes!. They'll dial in the starting prescription!. They should ask you to focus on the eye chart across the room, then begin to change the lenses in the device!. They then ask if you see better or worse after each lens change until your vision is clear when you're looking through the refractor!. As long as you answer honestly, you'll leave with your prescription that corrects your vision to 20/20, or as good as the doctor can correct you to!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm not sure about Wall mart's procedure but I'm pretty sure they are all similar!. It really isn't a big deal!. My sister got hard contacts at the age of 9 and I got soft contacts at the age of 14!. They will make you put your chin on a machine and may put a droplet into each of your eyes to help them see better so they can see if there is any severe damage to your retina!. from there they will have you look through the machine to a chart on the wall and change the lenses depending on which ones you say are better than the other!. If they are going to be poking your eye with anything (which they shouldn't be) they have other droplets that numb your eye so you wont even know if anything is touching your eye!. Worst comes to worst, they will dilate your iris (which is the colorful part of your eye that gets bigger and smaller) and you will have to wear a pair of these sunglasses in order to protect your eye from lights and then sun!.

You will be fine, if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask the person giving you the eye exam and they will be more than happy to walk you through everything they are doing and why they are doing it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Nonono!.!.!.

Its not a nervous situation!. They basically ask you if you can see certain letters of the alphabet on a wall from some distance!.!.!.make you look into some machine(no it doesnt poke your eye or anything) and ask you what you see and look at the health of your eyes!. its not a painful procedure!.

and if you don't like the look of glasses!.!.!.you can ask for contact lenses!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Haha there shouldn't be much to worry about!. They'll make you read some board, and if your eyesight is bad, they'll make you look through a lens and ask what looks clearer, they will not touch your eyeball at anytime during an examination, they will probably use a machine that is a real bright light to examine if there is anything wrong physically, but there is nothing to worry about!.
