How do you care for contacts that you keep for a year?!

Question: How do you care for contacts that you keep for a year!?
Is is any different than caring for monthly disposables!? What are the pros and cons of each!?!?!? Are the vial contacts still soft contacts!? I have worn rigid contacts before and would prefer not to go that out again!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Yearly lenses actually require a lot more care and steps in the cleaning process than disposables do!.

Yearly lenses require a peroxide based cleaning system , which means the disinfectant, and the neutralizer, saline solution, and tablets to remove protein buildup!.

A simple one step solution works for disposables!.

It actually costs more over a year to care for 1 pair of yearly lenses, that to buy 12 pairs of monthly disposables with the multi purpose solution!.

And of course, the disposables are so much more healthy to wear, not to mention comfort!.

Yearly lenses can be bought for 30!.00 per lens, but the extra care and solutions costs, and those tablets make them more expensive in the long run!.

Also, if you tear one!.!.!.you are stuck!.

Yearly lenses are dinosaurs in the market now!.!.!.go for monthly disposables!.!.!.they are your best choice if you want the cheapest way to go, and still have a healthy lens to wear!.

Caring for them is no different from monthly disposables!. Yearly lenses are still soft, but they will be pretty expensive - close to $100 per lens!. You can get a year supply of monthly lenses for about the same price, or less!. With monthly lenses, since you're changing them frequently, your chances of an eye infection are a lot less!. But, if you forget and wear them for longer than you're supposed to, you then increase your chance of an eye infection again!. The monthly ones are made of a less durable material that stops breathing well after a month, which is why you need to change them, and why they are cheaper!. Also, with monthly lenses, your optometrist receives free trials from the manufacturer, so if you ever tear one or forget to order new ones and need some to get you by for a week or so, they can give you a pair!. They can't do that with the yearly ones!.
Unless your prescription is really high, and with a lot of astigmatism, requiring custom lenses, go for the disposables!. If you do have a difficult prescription, the yearly custom lenses might give you better vision!. (A difficult prescription would be something like +9!.50 -2!.75 x180 as opposed to +2!.50) Www@Answer-Health@Com
