Why does my eye do this?!

Question: Why does my eye do this!?
I had three surgeries to re-attach my left retina(retinopathy of prematurity)!. I have some blindness in the periphery and the central vision was damaged as a result of the de-tachment, which causes slightly warped vision over-all when i use both of my eyes because my damaged left vision is over-lapping slightly with my right vision!. anyways, when i try to read print, or fine-print my left eye will often turn way outwards, like the whole eye is giving up on focusing at all, leaving only my right eye to focus on the print!. it doesnt hurt though!.
is anyone familiar with this symptom!? is this common when you have one eye damaged from retinal detachment!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It sounds like intermittent exotropia, meaning your eye is sometimes turned out and sometimes it's straight!. An eye with poorer vision does tend to drift!. If it bothers you, mention it to your ophthalmologist at your next exam!. They may refer you to an ophthalmologist who specializes in strabismus!.
