Answers:
The divergent answers given show the difference between the UK and the USA!.

In the UK, if your job involves vdu use for at least 16 hours per week your are entitled to a paid-for eye exam at the recommended (by the optometrist) interval!. 2 years, 1 year, or even less if there are grounds, though the company involved might squawk!.

If glasses are required which are in some way different, because of the VDU usage, from those which you might need normally your employer must meet the basic cost of these!. (You want designer frames, you pay the extra)
That may, if there is a demonstrable need, include bifocal, trifocal or varifocal lenses!.
(I won a dispute with the police over that, concerning some of their dispatching staff, where single vision computer glasses were totally inappropriate to the job!.)

Under the age of about 50, it would be very rare for this to arise, as any normal glasses would be as appropriate for the VDU as they were for everything else!. The subsidy doesn't apply to just any change in Rx!. There must be some specific VDU only element!.

In the USA: no rights, or whatever benefit may have been incouded in any specific work-funded healthcare plan!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are entitled to a free eye test if you are required to work at a VDU!. The organisation can specify where the test should be taken and its only for the VDU distance and use part of the test you can get paid!. Most organisations will contribute towards the basic cost of a pair of spectacles to see the VDU clearly!. Designer specs for driving, reading or sitting on St Tropez beach are definately not in the mix!!.!.!.!.!.but you can try!.!.!.lol You need to be having a regular break from looking at the VDU during the day, its in the health and safety rules!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sorry!.!.!. Assuming that you live in the US, you are entitled to exactly $0!.00 in eye care - unless the company you work for offers vision insurance(!?)!.

Typically vision insurance pays for one optometrist's exam per year and one pair of eyeglasses per year- both within limits!. Your medical insurance may pay for opthamologist exams/visits/etc, but you need to check your policy!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Depends on what health coverage you have under your employment contract!. I bet you have no health insurance seeing as how you work 11 hours a day!. I have a feeling you are screwed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Check with the human resources lady or give your insurance card to an Optician and they can find out your coverage!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Free eye test which the company pays for!. Ask your manager for more information!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

None its down to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
