Anyone have the new high definition glasses? If so - what do you think of them?!

Question: Anyone have the new high definition glasses!? If so - what do you think of them!?
Answers:
HD lenses actually only make any difference in moderate to high prescriptions!. In prescriptions over +/- 4!.50 there is a better peripheral vision than with regular lenses!.

HD lenses are made by the Free Form method, in which a computer calculates and corrects the curvature up to 1000 times across the width of the lens!.!.!.as opposed to one curvature that is the same all over!.

You can't see the difference by looking at at, but the curvature becomes faceted like a diamond allowing light to enter in a straight line at any point on the lens instead of bending as the normal curve causes at the areas of the lens away from the center!.

So, basically, they just cause less distortion at the outer edges of strong lenses!.!.!.!.which is important for some people , but most never even see a difference!.

It makes no difference in the central vision at all from a regular lens!.

I have no clue why they call them HD lenses, aside from jumping on the bandwagon because of HD videos and TV!.!.!.and I don't agree with that name either!.!.!.!.it is misleading the public!.

So, unless you have a high prescription, there is no advantage to them at all!.

And even then, the only lenses that it seems to make any real difference in is with progressive/ invisible bifocals!.

Most single vision prescriptions can be dealt with just as well with the high index lenses available today, and the right frame choice to eliminate most of the edge thickness!.
