I have worn the bifocal contacts for about 3 years!. They took me about two weeks to get my brain to work with how the vision works with them!. I had worn regular contacts for many years, so I was already used to wearing them!. It might take you a few weeks and also your eye's tear layer may be re adjusting as well!. It does take some time and some patience!. I work in an office where the doctor does fit many bifocal soft lenses including the purevision ones!. I personally wear the C-Vue multifocal from Univision!. You may have a little or no astigmatism!. It can come and go!. I have none in one eye and just a little in the other!. I am not corrected for it in my left eye because it is not enough to correct!. Do not worry so much about it, let your doctor do the fitting and let the process go slowly and have some patience!. They might not settle well and they might!. You might have to have a couple of different sets of trial lenses before they gt it right!. this is all normal with a fit like a bifocal lens!. In my experience only about 50% of people really take to bifocal contacts, (but those that do, love them!)

There HAS to be some sort of compromise in the vision to get back the flexibility for different distances that the eyes no longer adequately have!.
The trick is to steal from where we hope it won't be missed: the binocular vision, principally, in monovision methods; and contrast levels, principally, in simultaneous vision multifocals, such as you have!.
In the latter, some people find one brand better than another, to personal choice!. It can take several trials to find the best possible
arrangement, which will not be as good as the flexible vision you had in your 20s and 30s!.
Very good lighting for reading almost always helps!.
It will take at least a week for you to decide if you are going to acclimatise and find the vision acceptable!.

I recently got contacts too! Not bifocal contacts, but still contacts! The first week or two, your vision will be a little blurry!. It will settle eventually!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
