What would you think/do? Could the eye doctor be wrong?!

Question: What would you think/do!? Could the eye doctor be wrong!?
This might get long, so stick with me! What do you think about this!?

I have been nearsighted for about five years now and have always seen the same eye doctor, who I love! Last time I went in for my appointment, she was out, so I had to see the other dr!. who works there!. This doctor was kind of rude towards me, nothing in particular, just her overall snipped manner!. She said it was surprising that my eyes had not got a lot worse like most kids my age (16) who come to the doctor because their eyes change rapidly!. Then she told me mine were a little worse and I had astigmatism now too!. So she gave me my new prescription and I took it to a store and got my glasses!. I think the nearsightedness is like -2 or -4, I'm not sure which and I don't know about the astigmatism!. I know my eyes aren't too awfully bad overall though!.

Anyway, the new glasses were so weird! I hated getting used to them!. I would see wavy lines or blurriness a lot and my eyes would be sore and I'd get head-achy!. The lense on my left was sticking out the tope of the frame a little bit too!. I could still see fine through my old glasses and wanted to go back to that prescription, but my parents thought I just needed to get used to the new one!. They do believe me now, because I complained about them for many months, not just a week or so 'till I adjusted!.

It's been over a year now and my eyes still hurt and waviness bothers me once in the while!. I kind of think I don't really have astigmatism, but why would the doctor have told me that I do, if I don't!? My old glasses aren't quite right either anymore, but I think that's because I'm mostly used to my new ones now!. Unless wearing the new glasses messed up my vision more or actually gave me astigmatism!. Could this happen!?

What do you think!? Is there anything I can do to get rid of the astigmatism or know for sure that I have it!? I do know I'm due for another eye appointment sometime soon, and I'm certainly not seeing anyone but my trusted eye doctor from now on!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
If you've never checked it could be that the Rx was right but was made-up wrongly: that happens too, from time to time!.

Wrong Rx prescribing does happen for a variety of reasons, usually a breakdown in communication at some point, though I've had a few that were complete mysteries!.
And not everyone can tolerate an astigmatic glasses Rx!.!.!. even when it *is* actually there!.
Giving the best possible lens to each eye is only *usually* the right move!.

After a year only a blatant mis-prescribe will be obvious, though the glasses can still be checked against the intended Rx!.
If your eyes have changed they would have done anyway: you've no need or grounds to blame the glasses for that!.

You need a new exam, taking the good old glasses and the latest ones with you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think you may not have an astigmatism!.
But I'm not an eye doctor, so I wouldn't know!.
Ask your trusted doctor!.
Anyone help me!?!? http://answers!.yahoo!.com/question/index!?!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
