My poor vision is embarrassing to a breaking point?!
Question: My poor vision is embarrassing to a breaking point!?
I have a vision of -13 something in my left eye because of premature birth retina detachment in my right eye!. I feel so embarrassed because my glasses are FREAKING thick!. Without my glasses everything is very blurry and I can't read anything unless it's pressed up to my face but I can see solid figures fine and can move my way around!. I really want contacts instead because people are pestering me nonstop about why I can't do certain things because of my eye or why my glasses are so damn thick like an old grandmothers!. Is it possible to get contacts at this rate!? I know they have separate left and right eye sets!? What brand!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
Answers:
Yes there are options!.!.!.
I know somewhat how you feel: my Rx hits -13!.50 in its worst meridian
but overall, I prefer my glasses to contacts!.
(being a rather professorial or even nerdish male may make for a different viewpoint on this)
Glasses thickness can be minimised by high index lenses (up to 1!.9 in glass) fitted to the smallest, roundest frames *that suit you*!.
For contacts, Rx strength alone is not a problem: I've fitted up to -24!.00
If there are complexities due to significant astigmatism, a fitting might well still be possible, but another possibility would be to fit a simple lens at, say, -12!.00, and re-refract over that to provide *low-power* glasses (which might not need to be worn all the time) with the final tuning, to be worn over the contact lens!.
A lot depends on your personal details, but there are definite possibilities!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

babes I know how you feel!. My vision is awful, someone will walk past me and wave and I'll ignore them and they think I did it on purpose! Go to your optician and discuss some options, i'm sure they will do their best to help out! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
