Of course it's hard to say without looking at the eye, but it sounds like you may have a corneal abrasion!. Keep the contacts out of the eyes for at least 2-3 days!. It may be in an area that everytime you blink it rubs against the eyelid causing some recurrent erosion!. If you can get to the store and buy Systane eye drops and put them in every hour and then pick up some Muro 128 ointment!. (sold in the pharmacy without a prescription) or even Refresh PM and put a thin line of it inside the lower eyelid when you go to bed, it may provide some relief!. Also try taking Ibuprofen!. That will help with any inflammation!. Do NOT put the Contacts back in tomorrow!. The eye has to have time to heal or you will end up with an ulcer or a worse erosion!. If you try all these things and there is no improvement at all by tomorrow call your ophthalmologist and get in!. If you do note improvement, keep using the eye drops and the ointment at bedtime for a few nights and in probably 4-5 days it should be 100 percent healed!.
Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are health issues that can present with eye pain 1st or health issues with your eyeball itself that can be mild to very serious!. That being said,, if this feels like something perhaps in your eye you can use plain saline contact solution to irrigate your eye & try to move your eye around some & move the object out!. Perhaps you scratched it & it's simply still irritated - take some tylenol or motrin for pain / irritation swelling of the area!.
You mentioned a cold!?!? Is the eye pain sinus pressure!? like pain from behind the eyeball like your eye ball is being pushed out of the socket!? If that is the pain you may just need a good dose of psuedofed!.
Or if non of the above feel correct & it feels like the eyeball itself is in pain not an object in the eyeball & you don't get migraines i would suggest the ER!.
Good luck to you,,Www@Answer-Health@Com

I most definitely agree with Mom@40's answer!. I've been in this field for 15 yrs and I'm also a licensed contact lens fitter!. It sounds like you may have a corneal abrasion and you need to stop wearing your contacts for a few days!. I'm hoping you have a back up pair of glasses!.!.!.!.!?!? The eye ointments will be thick and will blur your vision for several minutes after application, but it will provide a protective layer on the cornea to help with the healing process and provide some comfort for you!. It should get better in a matter of days, and if not PLEASE see your eye doctor!. The eye is the fastest healing organ in the body! It takes about 24 hours to regenerate and heal, depending on the depth of the scratch/abrasion!. The most important thing is to stop wearing your contacts for now!. Trust me!.!.!.you don't want an eye ulcer!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
