Answers:
Depending on your brand and your eyes sensitivity, my Acuvue Oasys took about 2 days and I could wear them comfortably!.
Make sure you get contacts that breath well allowing your eyes to keep moist!. Your optometrist will know best!.
Also make sure on your first day you wear them for a little time, like 8 hours!. Then on your second day, 10 hours!. On your third day you could do 12!.

Your contacts should feel comfortable when you put them in!.If not you should take them out!. If you are new to contacts you should only be wearing them for a few hours the first day then build you time up by two hours until you are wearing them all day!. If you are wearing a toric Lens it will take a while to get the hang of them!. Toric lens will rotate and you must blink, blink , blink until you get it back in the spot it needs to be!. If you are still in the trial stage of a toric lens you may need to go back to the Dr!. and they might need to try a different rotation on the contact if it is moving to much!. Is the problem dry eyes!? If so try a drop of saline on you contact before you put it in your eyes!. That will help keep them moist!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
