Lasik alternatives for extreme myopia?!
Question: Lasik alternatives for extreme myopia!?
I have extremely myopic vision and my contacts have to be specially designed for my eyes which costs around $700 for a years supply!. I've been told that I would not be an acceptable patient for lasik under any circumstances because of my thin retinas and cornea!.
Is there any other possible alternative for my extreme myopia!? By the way I'm only 19 years old but I don't want to wait too much longer for surgery if possible!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Yes there is!. I can implant a lens into your eyes if you have extreme myopia!. You also have to be a suitable candidate for this surgery too!. This is a surgery that takes 10 minutes using only medical drops to numb your eyes!.

There are surgical options for you, but you are still relatively young for most of them!. You would probably need to wait until your early 20s regardless the procedure!.
Sounds like you were evaluated for LASIK if you know your corneas are too thin, they didnt mention your alternatives!?
Refractive surgeries like radial keratotomy or photorefractive keratectomy might be an option!.
More invasive surgeries like phakic IOLs or pseudophakic IOLs are possibilities as well!. Obviously any surgery, LASIK or other has risks no matter how simple a procedure you may think!. Hear the choices and make an informed choice or keep wearing the contacts which is the most conservative option!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
