Question: I have conjunctivitis (pink eye) and i need to wear my contacts today!. what should i do!?
i went to the hospital last night and was informed that i have conjunctivitis!. however, i have a serious cross country meet today, and i need to wear my contacts!. Is this okay for me to do!? why or why not!?

Can't you do it without glasses / contacts!? How bad is your vision!? Your eyes are going to get so much more irritated if you put contacts in!. Plus you'll only be able to get one wear out of them cos you'll have to throw them out to prevent reintroducing the infection!.

If I were you I would buy fresh lubricating eye drops from the pharmacy and ask for one that's suitable for contact use!. If you allready have drops like that I would still probably buy a fresh lot just in case you have contaminated the old drops!. Put the contacts in and just keep putting those lubricating drops in, it will just help your eyes get a little less irritated!. As soon as you get home take them out throw them away and don't put any contacts back in untill your eyes are completely better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

NO!!! It is not OK for your to wear contacts in your eyes when you have pink eye!. I mean seriously are you telling me you didn't know the answer to this question before you post it!?!! Sweetie you need to list your priorities!. What's most important to you!? Having healthy eyes or running in this track meet!? I understand that this meet is really important and you don't want to let down your coach or your team, but what is most important is having healthy eyes!!! You make the call!. If you can not see well enough with your glasses and you were my child I would not let you run today!. If your coach is concerned about you I don't think he/she will allow you to run either!.!.!.
