Answers:
I have strabismus, which is sometimes incorrectly referred to as a lazy eye!. My left eye wanders a little mostly when I am tired!. I can see out of both eyes!. My right eye has normal vision and my left is a somewhat blurry due to astigmatism but correctable with eyeglasses or contacts!. I sometimes experience double vision or a ghosting type effect when I am tired or if I look into the distance without wearing eyeglasses or contacts!. I have normal peripheral vision!.

I hope that answers your question!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends what you mean by "lazy eye"!. Lazy eye isn't exactly a medical term and has been used to describe someone with strabismus, amblyopia, or ptosis!.

People with strabismus (a crossed, wandering, or eye that is higher than the other) may have the ability to see with both eyes!. The amount of vision they have in their non dominant (non straight) eye depends on when the strabismus started, if the person had any treatments in their childhood, and why they have strabismus!. Some people can alternate which eye they look with, others strongly prefer using one eye over the other, and if the onset is in adulthood, some people will use both eyes and see double!. Some patients with exotropia- an eye that wanders out- do report having a larger visual field!.

People with amblyopia (decreased vision in one eye compared to the other) can have varying degrees of vision in their poorer seeing eye!. Treatment (generally patching or otherwise blurring the eye with the better vision) can help in early childhood!.

People with ptosis (an eyelid that is lower than the other) may have reduced vision in the affected eye, depending on the position of the eyelid and if the pupil was covered or not!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

People with strabismus ("lazy eye") can see out of both eyes as babies!. However, they must be forced to use both of their eyes at times or they can lose their vision in the non-dominant eye!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
