Is 13 hours a safe amount of time wear contacts?!

Question: Is 13 hours a safe amount of time wear contacts!?
I wear my contacts when I'm at school for seven hours, 8:15-2:55
Then I wear them for another 6 hours till I take my contacts off before I shower and go to bed!. Thats 13 hours, is that a safe amount of time to wear contacts during one day!? I use good hygiene with my contacts but I don't want to irritate or damage my eyes by wearing them for too long!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should be fine to wear them for that long as long as you're taking good care of them and changing them regularly!. If your eyes feel dry or irritated by the end of the day, maybe take them out a little earlier and wear your glasses if you're going to just be doing homework or watching TV!. It is good to give your eyes a break every once in a while, especially if they're feeling tired, or looking red!.
I've been wearing contacts for 11 years, mostly over 12 hours a day, and I've never been told that I've damaged my eyes, except for when I wore contacts for longer than the two weeks they were supposed to be worn for!. Of course, everyone's eyes are different - some are more sensitive than others!. Maybe just remember to ask your eye doctor what he/she thinks is a good amount of time for you to wear yours the next time you have an appointment!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I only wear a contact lens in my left eye and I have worn it for 12 to 16 hours in a day and my eye is fine!. I clean my contact really well and I try to give my eye a day to rest without wearing the contact lens!.

This is also really dependent on the individual as well my roommate can typically wear his about 7-9 hours before removing them!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, I'm pretty sure that it really depends on whether they are dailies or just one pair!. I wear dailies, and I have to put them in at 8 and take them out at 3:30!. (I really wish I could wear them longer, but I can only wear them for 7 and a half-8 hours!.) If it's just one pair, I'm pretty sure you can wear them longer!. If you're really unsure, I suggest you ask your eye doctor!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
