What can help cross eyes see straight?!

Question: What can help cross eyes see straight!?
My eyes are slightly crossed and it keeps me from making eye contact with people because they look over their shoulder to see if I'm looking at something else and it is unattractive!. As a result I give the impression that I have poor social skills and look down or away when talking to someone or look at their mouth or another object to try to hide my eyes!. Is there anything that can straighten my eyes!? What type of surgery and would insurance cover it and if not how much would it cost!? I am in my 30s and the literature i read said only children with this defect can be helped!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
You have endotropia!. Your vision might be correctable with prism spectacles!.

Also, with the prism correction, your eyes will appear more 'normal' because people will be looking at your eyes through the spectacles!.

However, with severe endotropia, surgery IS an option, even in your 30's!. This woman appears to be late 40's:

It sounds like you have esotropia!. If you are farsighted at all, glasses may help!. Surgery is also an option and many insurance policies will cover it, as it is not a cosmetic surgery!. You will have to check with your insurance!.

You should have a dilated eye exam with a pediatric ophthalmologist (medical doctor who works with children and adults with strabismus- crossed, wandering eyes)!. The dilated exam will be able to show if you are farsighted and determine if glasses may reduce the amount of crossing of your eyes!.

The link below explains more about adults with strabismus!. On the home page there is a link to find a pediatric ophthalmologist in your area!.

And about prism glasses- the prism lines up the image your eye sees with the direction your eye is pointed!. Prism glasses probably won't improve your appearance but they may allow you to use both of your eyes together!. An ophthalmologist will be able to help you with this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
