Is there any treatment for a lazy eye?!
Question: Is there any treatment for a lazy eye!?
My husband has a lazy eye and wants to know what can be done about it!. ThanksWww@Answer-Health@Com
Answers:
unfortunately there is no treatment for lazy eye (amblyopia) if you are over the age of 8 because the eye has already completely developed!.
the other posters who are saying glasses is because they have a refractive error on top of their amblyopia so they are making the image slightly clearer, but there is no cure as such, sorryWww@Answer-Health@Com

It depends on what you mean by the term "lazy eye"!.
If your husband's eye is sometimes crossed in, wanders out, or one eye is higher than the other (strabismus), he may be helped with proper glasses and/or strabismus surgery!. If this is the case, he should visit with a pediatric ophthalmologist (they work with children and adults with strabismus)
If your husband has one eye that sees better than the other eye (amblyopia), the other answerers are correct!. The best treatment for amblyopia is patching or blurring the better seeing eye in early childhood!. There have been some studies that showed improvement in visual acuity with patching up to age 18!.
If your husband has one eyelid that looks lower than the other eye lid (ptosis), he may be a candidate for ptosis surgery to make the appearance of his eyelids more symmetric!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

hello
I would go to optometrist, to get his opinion!. You husband might need glasses to rectify that problem!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
