Question: Too young for colored contacts!?
Hi my sister just turned 12 in septmeber!. And she wants colored contacts!. She has brown eyes!. She wants blue!. How much do they cost & do you think she is too young!. Also she has prescription glasses will it effect anything!? Also will it hurt her!. She has asking me all the time && begginng me to find out for her about it!. Please resond!. !Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's not really an age issue, it's responsibility!. I've been wearing contact lenses since I was 11 yrs old and I'm now 35!. If your parents and eye doctor both agree that she's responsible enough to take care of them, then the doctor will approve her to wear them!. He may not prescribe colored lenses at first, but its up to the doctor!. If he does, she needs to try on the colors first to see which one's she likes before buying them!. Most companies will not allow you to return or exchange them b/c you don't like the color!. As far as price, it will differ depending on which state you live in, and where you buy them!. I'm in Nevada and they're about $26 per box at my work!. You do not see as clear through colored lenses, which is something she will have to get used to!. It does not hurt to insert and remove them!. The technician will show her how to do that and go over proper care!. Over time it will get easier and easier with practice!. My friend who was 13 got them in 8th grade!. It was a pretty interesting blue color he got that!. I think the type of blue color was suppose to be intentionally fake, because it was sorta creepy and got the attention of everyone!. He said he wanted to get another pair that was white that would cost about 90-100 dollarsWww@Answer-Health@Com
i would talk to your eye doctor about getting your sister colored contacts!. if your eye doctor does not advise it for a while then don't!. eye sight is one of the most valuable senses and in my opinion you don't want to screw it up!. your eye doctor will be able to advise you and her probably better than anyone on Yahoo Answers!.

not to young, you must let the optom do a contact lens check so that they can show you how to take it out and clean it and not to damage your eye!. ITS VERY IMPORTANT!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
