Contacts | Is it Worth it?!

Question: Contacts | Is it Worth it!?
Ok, so I'm really starting to get bad vision!. Well good enough to still see!. I wear glasses sometimes when I can't see the board!. It's mostly I can't see marker boards or chalk boards but most of my classes have Smartboards so I'm fine!.

But anyway, I'm 16 and I'm getting my permit in about 2-3 weeks!. And I remember when I was doing sports a year ago, my doctor checked my eyes and said I have to wear glasses when I play!. But I tried to explain that I can see everything!. I can identify anything!. It's just lettering I can't see!.

So now I'm paranoid that when I have to do my vision test, I'm not going to pass it!. I just got my eyes checked from the school nurse a few days ago and she said she JUST passed me!.

I seriously don't want to wear my glasses when I drive!. Because they are actually distracting and make my vision worse!. It's clear but you see the outline and it makes everything outside of the lense even more blurrier!.

So now I'm just thinking about getting contacts!.!.!.

So after all that, my question is!.!.!.

Is it really worth it to get contacts!?
Are they are to get in and out!?
Any warnings you should give me!?

Please tell me everything!. My mom wears contacts and she said I wouldn't like it!.

And what brand should I get if I do decide to get contacts!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was your age when I first got contact, and WOW best decision I've made in a while!.

While hard contacts are going to be a pain to wear, soft contacts are really comfortable and only take a short while to get used too!.

I would get Acuvue Oasis, it has small pockets that lets air circulate through so it doesn't dry!.

Oh and they will definitely give you better/different vision than glasses would!.

Trust me, it will be a good decision!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go for it, get contacts, its worth it!. My advice is to try and wear them for as a short a time as possible each day!. Once you get home and you know you're probably not going out again and won't need to see writing from a long distance, take them out!. (If you wear them for too long it's bad for your eyes!.) I use Acuvue for Astigmatism, works fine for me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

just stick with glasses!.!.!.unless youre gonna get the disposable contacts that you wear once and throw away!. the ones that you have to wash everyday are a pain in the butt like really!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well im getting glasses on monday or tuesday and im not allowed to get contacts but my moms eyes turn all red and itchy from contacts and i dont think they would be worth it but thats my oppinion
not anyone elses!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'd recommend contacts!. I've had mine for about 8 years!. I see better than when I wear my glasses!. and its just less of a hassle than glasses are!.

They are not bad to put in or take out!. When you go to the eye doctor, they will show you how to put them in and take them and they will make you practice!.

Don't sleep in your contacts unless they are the kind you are allowed to sleep in!. It can cause an eye infection because your eye can't breath!. There are 30 day contacts, I believe you can sleep in them and I think these are more expensive!. And there are the 2 week kind, you aren't really supposed to sleep in them, you wear them for up to 2 weeks, taking them out each night, or they will last for 1 week if you sleep in them!.

Acuvue is really comfortable brand!. But you can try different types at the eye doc!. They usually have samples in the office, they will have you wear them for about a week then give them a call if you want to order that brand!. I have heard hard contacts are really uncomfortable!. If you have an astigmatism, it changes the contact, astigmatism contacts are weighted on the bottom, so if they shift, it changed your vision which is a pain in the butt!. But Acuvue makes a contact for astigmatism!.

Just ask your eye doctor for more information!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your mom is such a liar! Well, kind of!.!.!. It's possible that you won't like them, but there's only one way to find out!

I've been wearing contacts for five or six years and I LOVE them! I don't ever want to go back to wearing just glasses!. It's very nice having full peripheral vision, I'll tell you that!

It's not that hard to catch on to how to take them in and out!. I've even had fake nails on and was able to take them out with ease!.

I definitely suggest contacts!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, the "is it worth it" part will be for you to decide, but here's some tips from my experience!.

I needed very thick glasses starting when I was 5!. They really are "coke-bottles"!. I switched to contacts when I was 11 and I was placed in rigid-gas permeable lenses which I wore until I was about 24!. I do NOT recommend hard contact lenses!. They are a pain!. Literally!. Hard to believe I wore them for so long!.

At 24 I was attempting to switch careers and my new job would only hire very nearsighted people if they wore soft contacts!. I switched to soft lenses and they're great!.

It's going to take you a little while to get used to sticking your finger in your eyes every single day, but you'll get used to it!.

I used to wear a brand that was kind of rare, it was made in England and all of a sudden I couldn't get that brand anymore!. I switched to Acuvue Advance and it was an incredible improvement in comfort and clarity!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I wear contacts and glasses!. If I'm driving i have to have them in because when I went to get my permit, my right eye couldn't pass the vision test, so I recommend taking your glasses when you get it!.
However, if you have to have your glasses to see it, they will put on your license that you cannot drive without them, and it will be illegal to drive without them!

Contacts are so worth it!.
They take a while to get used to doing, but after a month or so, they become easy to put in and unless they have a tear or something on them, they are super easy to wear!. You hardly notice them!.

I love accuvue oasis, but it's different for everyone!
Go to an optometrist (eye doctor) and get them checked out!. Contacts are relatively cheap and so worth it!Www@Answer-Health@Com
