I'm 17 years old, I've had glasses for about 6 years now, I've tried contacts, and they weren't comfortable at all!.
I'm thinking about getting Lasik Eye Surgery, and the things I do know are:
- the feeling of burning of the eye with the drops (i think)
- it doesn't last, the surgery 'fades' away!.
Although, I've also heard that it is the best thing!.
Considering, glasses getting in the way (most people say you can deal with it, but honestly it does get annoying)
Actually being able to wear sunglasses (i know, that it is a small plus, but!.!.!.)
I just want to know if it's worth it, I'm trying to find a really good place to get information and actually have it done, but I want to know some basics first!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had been wearing contacts/glasses for like 12 years, (most of those years in contacts)and got lasik done about 4 months ago!.
Even though I didn't wear glasses, having to handle contacts on a daily basis is annoying too! sure they dont fog up or slide down your nose, but mine were contantly moving around everytime i had to itch my eye, when crap gets in your eye it hurts incredibly! i had contacts ripping while in there (ouch!) etc!.
I got lasik after wanting to have it done for years!. Im 24 now, and everytime I asked about it optometrists etc!. said i should wait until i am older, etc!. becaue my eyes were still developing (yeah, developing worse!) anyway, when i went in for my last exam, they said I would make a good candidate so i went in for a free consult, and a coupel weeks later I had the procedure done!
i think it was the best money spent! its only been a few months, but for someone like me who can never remember seeing clearly, this was truly a gift! Its amazing how well i can see now, 20/15! Everything is brighter, sharper, just so cool! I was missing out on a lot before I think!
it is expensive, and there will be several tests that have to be run in order to determine what they will use -PRK vs- LASIK!. My costs for doing the surgery didn't include costs of drugs I would need (a muscle relaxant and vicodin - which was used for discomfort not for pain, i had no pain!) But the results for LASIK are immediate!. Its blurry at first, but by the next day, its incredible! I had a follow up appt and was able tod rive myself to it!
Do some research for dr's in your area, get free consults, and get a doctor you feel you can trust! Www@Answer-Health@Com

my sister got a lasik eye surgery 2 years ago(she was 29), she wore glasses since she was a kid!.
After the surgery she had to wear sunglasses and she used an eye-drop some months and she sees perfectly =D!.
I'm going to get lasik too, I'm 20(they say u should be at least 18 so your eye is already grown up)!. And it is said that surgery fades when you are like 40 years old because all eyes do at that age!.
