Why does a farsighted prescription improve from childhood through your early 20&!

Question: Why does a farsighted prescription improve from childhood through your early 20's!?
I was born with a +4 prescription in both eyes!. Slowly it has decreased, +2!.50 around age 16, now in early 20's it is +1 and +!.75 in my eyes!. To the point that I almost do not need to wear glasses!. Is this pretty common!? How does it work!. Does the lens change or the size of the eye, its hard to believe the eye is still growing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
most of the time it is becuae you had too short of an eyeball and as you grew it got longer!. Just like your feet and everything else did!. I have seen this happen many many times in the years I have worked as an optician!. Unfortunately those of us with nearsightedness that started as children had eyes that were too long, and as we grew our Rx's got worse!. !. So it is usually growth and heredity!. But, yeah people are still developing until they are about 21 on average, and their eyes can still grow a bit!. When you completely stop is pretty much the heredity thing!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have heard that farsightedness seems to correct itself as you grow in some cases (lucky thing huh!?)!. Because you are only in the early 20 you could be still growing!. Nearsightedness on the other hand seems to do the opposite and get worse!.!.!.*sigh*Www@Answer-Health@Com
